QUESTION IN TERMS OF NUMBER OF DAYS EARLY I'm on sleeping tablets. There was this maths dispute which goes back a while. I was supposed to stick to two tablets per day. If I had stuck to two tablets per day I would have started the next prescription on a Friday (let me refer to the next prescription as the 2nd prescription). But on some of the days I took an extra tablet (in other words, on some of the days I took 3 tablets). The question is then "If I start the 2nd prescription on the Wednesday instead of on the Friday. How many extra did I take?". Person A claimed that "starting the 2nd prescription on the Wedneday instead of the Friday is starting it THREE days early - and therefore I must have taken three days worth extra (= six extra tablets)". This is NONSENSE, Wednesday cant be three days earlier than Friday. If Wedneday were three days earlier than Friday, then that would make Thursday two days earlier than Friday, which in turn would make Friday one day earlier than Friday - which is nonsensical as something cant be earlier than itself!!!! No, Wednesday comes two days before Friday and so is TWO days earlier than Friday! And so I must have taken two days worth (= four extra tablets). THE WAY YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT IT The way you should think about it is as follows.... If I'm missing the two tablets I was going to take on the Wednesday, and I'm missing the two tablets I was going to take on the Thursday, then I must have taken FOUR extra tablets! So the answer is two days worth.
