They want to believe that the distorted rectangle on the right is half the width of the rectangle on the left. And half the length.

My doctor has measured the width to be nowhere near half as much umpteen times over the space of six years, and yet the group refuses to admit that it is not half as much!

I even cellotaped tape measures to the screen and took a photo of me measuring the widths, and the group still refused to admit that it is nowhere near half as much.
