I had already come up with a practical solution to address the fact that the lid is slightly physically bigger than the tub on the second day all those years ago. See, originally, I was comparing the outside edge of the lid to the outside edge on the tub in the photo. As already mentioned, a lid is actually slightly physically bigger than a tub because the lid is designed to fit over the tub. This introduced a very slight error that benefits me (it artificially raises the apparent width and length percentage values). Well, you don't have to use the outside edge of the lid - there is a smaller rectangle of the lid you can use instead! See figure I: The smaller, elevated rectangle on the inside - I think it is called a flange, it fits inside the tub. In the second photo I have indicated this rectangle by outlining it and filling it in with a crisscross grid pattern. On the second day all those years ago I switched to using this smaller rectangle of the lid, and in doing so I reversed the situation. So instead of there being a slight error benefiting me there was now a slight error benefiting them (we are now artificially lowering the percentage values instead). I pointed out that it still didn't work because the width and length percentage values were still miles away from 50%. So I had already disproved this margarine "idea" on the second day all those years ago before it had gained any traction. I kept trying to explain this on facebook. Either Peron A and the "group" were not trying to understand were incapable of understanding. I remember this causing me constant stress for at least several weeks. I've looked back at my facebook timeline and I commented on it for at least a year. The only person who understood that I had switched rectangles was my Doc, as per usual he was the only person putting in the effort to understand. Person A and the others have persisted with this margarine "idea" for 11 years, oblivious to the fact that I disproved it on the second day all those years ago.
